I've only got 25 years left on this planet, according to my email provider, so I'd better make them count.
Years ago I had an email account with the old search engine Altavista. They offered lifetime forwarding and POP3 access for some low price so I jumped on it. They were later taken over by another email provider, and that company occasionally sends me messages saying that my account is up for renewal and that I should cough up more dough. Since I still have a ton of email archived, I send them the receipt for the lifetime access from 1999 and then they go away for a few years.
One day I logged into my account and checked the settings only to discover that my account expires in 2039. They know something about me and are not sharing it. Hopefully I will go peacefully in my sleep. It's good to know that I am invincible until then...
